Description Wallace Lai 2008-04-07 12:08:40 UTC
Boom FW: 2

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install SC 7.2-18480.
2. Connect Boom to this PC.
3. Play some songs from the local SC.
4. On the Web UI, click the link to switch to SN.
5. Display on Boom goes blank.
6. Click the backward button on remote, and Boom shows it is trying to connect to SN.
7. Notice after a long wait, Boom is still trying to connect to SN, and no PIN is shown on the display.

Add use_sn_test: 1 to your server.prefs file.
Comment 2 Ross Levine 2008-04-08 13:45:37 UTC
I added use_sn_test: 1 to the end of /etc/slimserver/server.pref, restarted, SC7.2 - 18534 and Boom still doesn't connect. Screen goes blank. Firmware 2.

False alarm, presumed SqueezeTest was the appropriate test network. This is wrong, should use testsqueezenetwork (the airport over Steven/Ross/Caleb/David's cubicle.
Comment 4 Ross Levine 2008-04-08 16:11:38 UTC
Andy, what should use_sn_test do?

I'm finding on testsqueezenetwork with the DNS spoof Boom can connect to "Squeeze Network" without a problem, with or without this edit. On a non-spoofed network Boom cannot connect to "Squeeze Network" with or without the edit to server.pref.
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-04-08 16:29:25 UTC
use_sn_test enables the use of the serv 2 command and configures SC to talk to www.test.squeezenetwork.com. Not sure if Boom 2 has this or not.
