Bugzilla – Bug 7682
Volume Up clicks, Volume Down sounds fine...
Last modified: 2008-08-28 16:58:49 UTC
When changing the volume on the Boom UP, it makes little clicky noises. This does not happen while lowering the volume.
I don't hear it here. Does it happen while playing or/and while paused? Do you think the clicking is from the speakers or mechanical?
Ask Mickey to try it on his Boom ... that was the one I heard it on. The sound definitely came out of the speakers, but I don't recall if it happened when no audio was playing.
I hear it when volume is going up and down. Caleb is working on DSP-based volume which should fix this.
Caleb what is the timeframe for the DSP volume implementation? QA can't seem to reproduce this, either.
Sometime after the hardware problems are resolved :-) I don't want to rush it and break something else. Felix can probably take a good whack at it if he has time. -Caleb
Caleb, are you saying the DSP volume may not be in effect for the 7.2 release?
I tried this again with a PQP3 (fw18) unit and I was not able to hear a click in either direction, listening to music or paused. Does this still happen to you?
Please reopen if you still can hear this, thanks.
