Description Jeff Roesner 2008-03-31 10:38:50 UTC
Originally started as Bug 7538.

I'm running SqueezeCenter on Solaris but do all of my web browsing on XP. I have two SB3s named "Kitchen" and "Living Room" and when using the Fishbone skin I have problems when I change player the playlist for the other player is shown.

Ex. I open the web UI and the default player is Kitchen with an existing playlist. If I switch to Living Room the Living Room playlist loads, but is only displayed momentarily when the Kitchen playlist comes up again. It doesn't matter if any of the playlists are empty, the problem still occurs.

The issue doesn't happen 100% of the time, but after switching players a few times it begins to happen. Sometimes it will happen the first time the players are switched. My playlist is generally my all-encompassing playlist with currently 1883 tracks.

This happens using Firefox (2.x as well as the 3.0 beta 4) and IE7. My home PC is an Athlon 1200MHz with 640MB of RAM and my work PC is a P4 3.2GHz with 1.5GB of RAM. Both machines exhibit the same problem. The PC that SqueezeCenter runs on is an Athlon 800MHz with 786MB of RAM running Solaris 10.

might be a delayed response from the initial loads. When opening, the playlist is rendered with a normal html request, but then the ajax updates are started. Perhaps the response has been delayed when the switch happens. As I requested in the first report, firebug output is needed. As I cannot repro this, it's still only guessing.

Here is the firebug console output. I was switching from a player with no playlist to a player with a defined playlist when the current track was briefly shown then changed to the no song artwork, the playlist came up then changed to empty, all for the player that has a playlist.

possible fix committed at change 18320. Please try the 7.0.1 nightly for tomorrow and let me know if that helps and doesn't break anything. I'll keep trying to see if I can somehow reproduce this one in order to see if there is more to fix or not.
Comment 5 KDF 2008-04-03 09:46:40 UTC
I did run a few tests last night and couldn't reproduce it patched or un-patched. But my ajax responses were showing to be quite fast, so its hard to say if my hypothesis is the cause or not. The patch should deal with the theory. If this is still a problem, please reopen and assign to me. I'll have to add more debug to find something else. If it's working for you, please mark as verified.

Excellent work. Works fine now with both IE and Firefox both at home and work.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
