Bugzilla – Bug 7671
Cannot play songs when directory contains Unicode characters
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:18:51 UTC
My music collection is arranged with one directory per album, with the directory name and the flac file name being the same. (The directory also contains album art, etc.) For example: /av/8 Y Más! - Juega Billar/8 Y Más! - Juega Billar.flac But it seems the directory name and the file name are not processed the same way by SqueezeCenter. When I try to play this album, I get a bunch of errors in the SqueezeCenter server log file with SqueezeCenter complaining about not being able to find the following file: [file:///av/8%20Y%20M%C3%A1s!%20-%20Juega%20Billar/8%20Y%20M%E1s!%20-%20Juega%20Billar.flac Notice how the "á" of Más in the directory name was encoded as %C3%A1, but the "á" in the filename was encoded as %E1. I don't know which encoding is the correct one for the rest of the software to be able to work correctly, but one of those two is clearly wrong. (I am running in UTF-8, if it helps). Albums which have no accented characters in their name play correctly. Please advise, as this is preventing me from using a large part of my music collection with my SqueezeBox.
Please give 7.0.1 a try: I've added a bunch of fixes related to Unicode handling in file paths.
Reopen if you can reproduce in 7.0.1
Verified to be working in 7.0.1 - 19522.
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug. To download this version, please navigate to: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
