Description Mikael Nyberg 2008-03-24 10:13:12 UTC
It appears that Softsqueeze don't have Wake on LAN ability's on my Ubuntu 7.10 Machine (if it has it at all).
It would be nice if Softsqueeze had wol, even better if it had wol over internet so one could wake the server while traveling.

I tried with etherwake on the same machine, so the PC is capably of sending wol packets.

i had to use sudo etherwake so this might be some kind of "rights" thing in Ubuntu ?

Softsuqeeze is version 3.6
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0.1 - 17889 - Red Hat - EN - utf8 (on a different machine)

Btw the softsqueeze is buggy on ubunty in other regards to, you better try it out yourselves, skin change crashes it and other fiddling also breaks the audio output of my SB3 ? sorry for this diffuse remark but if i had a clear cut symptom, I would write a proper bug report(s) I have the feeling that it's not really tested on all platforms ?

Sure enough WOL doesn't work from SoftSqueeze; works great from SB3 fw86 at home. Etherwake didn't work for me.

I switched up skins and I'm not seeing any crash here, Ubuntu 7.10.
