Bugzilla – Bug 7590
Fix Now Playing area height
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:21:53 UTC
Artwork is hidden when using Pandora et al.
I did a change to the layout a few days ago (heck, why didn't I log this?). Do you still see the artwork vanish?
change 3088, change 3104 - tweak the netcontrol to fully display the artwork
Created attachment 3245 [details] Screen Grab of behavior It looks to me that the images are still being cutoff. Even when it appears they are not it looks very crowded to me and I think there should be more space around the image. Example attached where I dragged out the cover to show the cropping. Browser is Safari on Mac 10.4.
As long as we're stuck with that layout there's little I can do. There's just too much information to be displayed in too small a space. I'd really rather like to do a new web interface than keep tinkering with the limitations and brokenness of the current implementation :-(.
Created attachment 3246 [details] move volume control up One solution I'd see is moving the volume control up to between the buttons. We'd have to remove the "volume" label plus probably some of the extra spacing between the letters. But otherwise I don't see how we could free enough space for the cover art.
Brain, Dean - what do you think about this one? Or should we use a drop down or something as volume control?
Created attachment 3254 [details] SN with SC volume control
Hmmm...a dropdown would be a little weird. How about using SC's volume control? Check the last attachment to see what it might look like...
Its style imho is too distinct from the other SN buttons. And I think there can be more than the 3-4 buttons shown, depending on the service. Thus the volume control might still be too large.
Can we make the SN buttons move to the style of the SC buttons?
Sure, though the SN buttons are simple images, while the SC buttons are created dynamically from various pieces. And it doesn't help the fact that we lack space in that crammed frame. They're imho bigger.
change 3217 - I've reduced the artwork size by a few pixels, plus stole a few on margins and paddings. Still lacks a few pixels on IE6, but should otherwise be fine.
Michael: can you attach a screenshot with your changes.

The Java scrip editions to Beck will eventually fix this issue for good. Closing this bug for now, as the modifications that Micheal has made will be as good as he can get them.
Verified to be as good as it gets for right now. Looks very good here.
