Description Dan Evans 2008-03-20 10:47:35 UTC
This is odd and defies my understanding of how the Receiver goes through setup.

This is with a Duet pair I had set up and was running in a conference room here in Mt. View. I moved it back to my desk, along with the router. Plugged everything back in and the server and Controller connected back up fine. The Receiver did not.

Once plugged in, the Receiver quickly goes from RED to YELLOW. It then changes from YELLOW to GREEN. After about 30 seconds, the LED then reverts back to YELLOW.

What would cause this? If the Receiver was going to fail setup, I'd imagine it'd stay on GREEN at that stage. More importantly why is it failing setup when it connected fine previously? Puzzles abound!

Felix, I have not touched this player. I'd like to reset it. But if you want anything else done or tested before I reset it, please let me know.

(Steven and I took a movie of this to document the behavior, in case we were accused of insanity. I could attach said movie, but it's 100 MB. Just ask.)

What is the setup mode? You are using an router and SBC connected just fine so I guess standard wireless?
Comment 2 Dan Evans 2008-03-25 09:10:50 UTC
Yes, Standard Wireless.

Could you try to setup another SBR with the ok SBC and see if the SBR shows the same behavior?

Ping Daniel for an update
Comment 5 Dan Evans 2008-04-08 15:54:04 UTC
It's not really a fair test, as the strange behavior was seen when the SBC & SBR were already set up. They were just unplugged and then plugged back in at a later time.

I can still try what you suggest if you think it will help.

It's not a test so much as an extra clue.

Is this continuing to be a problem for one or more users, Dan?
Comment 9 Dan Evans 2008-06-05 17:14:38 UTC
No, I'd say not. It was mostly an aberration that challenged my and Steven's understanding of how Ray worked.

I'll close for now and reopen if I see it again and/or can reproduce.
