This is honestly a copy of bug 3958 from Squeezebox 3.

A snippet: "Currently, when the Squeezebox cannot proceed during some setup procedures, the
display simply goes black.  This is a bit of a support nightmare." 

What I'd like to propose is something like if we're in "setup" mode, don't black the display.  If we've successfully completed setup, and connection to the server and/or wifi is lost, I can see how blacking the screen is appropriate.  But not during setup.

Please details and steps to reproduce in bug 3958
