Bugzilla – Bug 7563
Real Media files not playable via favorites
Last modified: 2008-04-02 09:33:39 UTC
I'm running SqueezeCenter with the proper version of Alien BBC on a Windows 2000 machine. When I enter the following link as a favorite, it is not playable: http://wgnradio.com/listen/liveWGN.ram I get invalid xml feed error. When I enter the following link as a favorite, it is not playable: rtsp://live.wgnradio.com:5544/encoder/wgnlive.rm I get a cannot request non-http URL error. I am able to use the 'tune in URL' function and successfully play the link. Using the 'my picks' plugin on slimserver 6.5.4, I was able to play this link without a problem.
This can be fixed by an upgrade to Alien - as noted by bpa in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44972&page=2 However there is a more general case which is that we could possibly try to infer the content type from the url if fetching it from the stream itself fails (which is what is happening here) Assign this to me and I will look at that.
change 17963 should cover this - please check and close Note I changed the title for the changelog to be: Unable to add audio urls to favorties if mime type not known, to make it more general.
Please reopen if this is still a problem since Triode's fix.
