Description Jens Boettiger 2008-03-18 11:42:29 UTC
SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0.1 - 17876 - Windows Vista - EN - cp1252 (SP1 version)
Filesystem: NTFS

If you have German Umlauts (German special chars) in the name of a Playlist, SC will scan the playlist without any error or warning in logfile, but the Playlist is not visible in Web UI and SB/Transporter display.
Renaming the Playlist, will list the Playlist very well.

Note: all files listed in the Playlist are visible in UI and display and also playable

Example:
Playlist name: Märchen.m3u - not visible
Rename to Maerchen.m3u - no problems

Did this behaviour change recently? I've done various changes to the file name handling in 7.0.1, thus it would be interesting to know whether this worked for you in 7.0.

And what about music files with umlauts in them? And is your Windows set to using German or English language?

Just noticed your exact revision number: I did a lot of changes in 17888 and later. Please give it another try with the latest nightly build. This one does work for me.

Thanks Michael.
It seems version 17914 worked for me :)

Sorry about my ignorance for every new build but I did not find the time to download each (connection to ftp share is so slow for me).

So I will close this bug.

Thanks again,
Jens

Great!

No problem. Just make sure you can reproduce an issue with the latest and greatest build _before_ you report a bug.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
