Description Wallace Lai 2008-03-14 14:33:19 UTC
Jive FW: 7.0.1 r2114

1. Connect the Jive to Ray directly, then connect Ray to SC.
2. On SC, switch to SN.
3. On Jive, go to Rhapsody and stream some songs.
4. notice, sometimes the signal symbol turns red, but the user can still search for artists and songs. Apperantly, network is working fine. It is the symbol that has problem.

Wallace, when you say "Connect the Jive to Ray directly, then connect Ray to SC" that you are using Duet in the bridged configuration?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2008-03-16 23:38:58 UTC
I'm seeing this on my Controller right now. My installation is "traditional" (wireless AP to which all devices connect) and hasn't changed in two years. I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the red state showed up after some power saving mode.

Additionally I can't reboot the SBC by pressing+holding the home button. I get to the good-bye screen where the devices stucks. It's even reacting to the motion sensor, increasing brightness, but none of the buttons works. Anything I should do before I take out the battery?

From time-to-time I see a red wireless signal on both my Jives (one bridged, one on an AP). It does not seem to reflect anything operational - that is, it continues to work.
Comment 4 Chris Owens 2008-03-18 11:38:46 UTC
Wasn't this one of the symptoms listed for the memory issues of bug 7343? Is this a new issue then?
Comment 5 Wallace Lai 2008-03-19 08:44:57 UTC
Unable to reproduce this bug so far.
Comment 6 James Richardson 2008-03-21 09:08:13 UTC
Assigning bug to Wallace for further investigation.
Comment 7 Matt Wise 2008-03-26 07:33:00 UTC
This is the same bug, I think, as the memory leak. I just ran mine overnight and ran into the memory leak again:

  812 1 root S 62888 101% 4% /usr/bin/jive

This time, though, it was sitting around 84% memory usage while I was using it (52296 I think?) and it would not go above that while I used it. I had to let it sit overnight to get it to hit 62888.

Comment 8 Michael Herger 2008-03-27 13:35:55 UTC
I am also seeing 120% memory usage for jive.bin. Is there anything I can do before I force a reboot?

Using FW version 7.0 r2097 right now. Unable to get the red signal symbol appear on the same Jive. Is it luck or something was fixed? From the comments, looks like people are still investigating

Comment 12 Wallace Lai 2008-04-03 08:17:08 UTC
Read bug #7343. Verified it is very likely this is the same bug as that. Marking as "VERIFIED".
Comment 13 Wallace Lai 2008-04-03 08:23:18 UTC
However, I have a Lua script that gets the Jive to run out of memory. I ran that many times. When Jive's memory hit over 100%, the WiFi signal symbol was still white every time. Not closing this for now.
