I feel a bit stupid for submitting this as a bug, but I didn't see anywhere in the forums to submit requests. I have 2 SB3s running with SqueezeCenter 7.0 on Debian Linux, but this question dates back to my first SlimServer install, v6.3 (I think).

I use my systems primarly for Internet Radio (We're Public Radio freaks living in an unserved rural area). I've noticed that some stations (WAMU in Washington DC, for example) change the URLs in their MP3 Playlist (http://wamu.org/audio/wamu.m3u) every few months. SqueezeCenter (and SlimServer before it) stores the streaming URL brought down from the M3U playlist as static data. Whenever the station changes their streaming URL, things don't work and I have to get the M3U URL, have the SqueezeCenter Web interface "tune in" the URL, and add it to a playlist (and reconfigure the Alarm plugins). This is a real pain as our SBs also serve as our clock radios - so one day, without warning, you don't get the radio stream in the morning...

It would be really nice if SqueezeCenter had a mechanism that, given a Web-based M3U playlist, could periodically check the playlist URL to see if the station changed the streaming URL's. It strikes me that if the M3U URL, as well as the streaming URL could be saved in a playlist, then the software could check the M3U URL on a scheduled basis to see if the streaming URL is still valid, fixing it if necessary.

It this reasonable?

Thanks!

BTW: SqueezeCenter 7.0 is a GREAT improvement over 6.5.x. Thanks!
