Description Didier 2008-03-13 11:00:27 UTC
Hello,

I installed the new SqueezeCenter 7.0 on my ReadyNAS NV+ running RAIDIATOR 4.01.

After a clear and full rescan of my song library, it seems that there is a problem with .mp3 files (and only with .mp3) when you have accents in tags (like in french language, you have many accents on letters).

For example:

Song located in c:\\media\music\Rêve Bohème\Best of Rêve Bohème\1-01 - Just One Of Those Things.mp3 with the following values in tags:
- artist: Rêve Bohème
- title: Just One Of Those Things
- album: The Best Of Rêve Bohème
- track: 1
- year: 2006
- genre: Jazz

After a rescan, as result, I have a "no artist" entry when I browse by artist and "no album" when I browse by album.

If I remove all accents from tags and rescan, all is OK.

As I like french songs, it is really a big problem (I have more than 3000 songs with accents in tags!).

Please, can you solve the problem as soon as possible?

THANK YOU!!!

Please leave targets and priorities at default when creating reports.

Matt, is this one for you?

Could you please upload a copy of Settings -> Status so we have some more details about the installation?

Due to this bug, I downgraded to Slimserver 6.5.4. So, I can send you my settings in 6.5.4, they are the same as those I used with Squeezecenter 7.0. Is it OK for you? If yes, how can I export the settings to a file?

No, I'd need the exact version information of SC7...

This the version that is downloadable on the site of infrant: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=16965 (I already uninstall it from my ReadyNAS).

Hope it can help you.

Thank you

Matt: can you build 7.0.1 for radiator so Michael can test?
Comment 8 Michael Herger 2008-04-02 09:45:25 UTC
I'm not sure 7.0.1 will run on Raidiator at all, due to new dependencies (Encode::Detect). Might need to compile that module for ReadyNAS first :-/
Comment 9 Matt Wise 2008-04-02 10:41:29 UTC
I'll build a 7.0.1 for the Infrant unit... once its built, I'll contact NetGear and ask them to build an updated .bin package that includes the missing Perl dependency, and our 7.0.1 build.

Path with umlauts working on ReadyNAS/SC7.0.1

Matt - I'd say this is fixed in 7.0.1 as soon as we can get Detector.so included with Raidiator or our SC build. I successfully scanned a music path, files and tags with umlauts and accented characters with the latest build plus Justin's Detector.so.
Comment 11 Matt Wise 2008-04-07 13:01:31 UTC
This is fixed in checkin #18509 and #18518. Detector.so is added in.

Additionally a nightly build of the ReadyNas Addon package is almost ready and will show up in the 'latest/trunk' directory nightly going forward.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
