Description Chris Owens 2008-03-11 16:45:04 UTC
1) Play an album you know
2) Near the end of a track, take the Controller outside of radio range
3) Wait until the Now Playing screen indicates the track is over
4) Return to within radio range
5) Note the Receiver is now playing the next track
6) Note the Controller's Now Playing screen still displays the original (previous) track, with an incorrect time (sometimes 0 progress, sometimes continuously advancing to ludicrous times)

I have tried this at home, but was unable to validate it as of yet due to a problem with my music database. I will fix and try again this week.

OK, I have been able to reproduce this, It's looking like the Jive falls off the network, then doesnt reaquire the network when it's back in range.

My jive went to Red > Blue once I got out of range. Then when I walked back in range it wouldn't go from Blue > White, it stayed blue.

See attached log

While the log shows that the Jive is reacquiring a valid IP, the display does not updating afterward. If I change the currently playing track, or attempt to on the Jive, then the Blue WiFi icon changes and the display will update.

1 out of 5 attempts to reproduce this bug with R2097 I was able to get the Jive into the bad state described. The other 4 times, the Jive would reacquire & update the display properly 10-30 seconds after getting back into range.

Chris, can you try again with r2097 when you get a chance? Also, which AP are you using?
Comment 5 James Richardson 2008-04-02 13:20:17 UTC
Richard: OK, I have been able to repeat the error, when there is NO memory card in the Jive. If there is a card in the jive, the error does not happen.

What should be the next step?

Here is the log from my Jive
Comment 7 Richard Titmuss 2008-04-08 12:48:36 UTC
Fixed in jive 7.0.1 r2177-2178.

James to recreate walk out of range till the icon is red, then wait a couple of minutes before walking back towards the AP. Before the fix you'll then find the icon stays blue, and the connection to SqueezeCenter is not re-established.
