Description Mark Miksis 2008-03-10 12:06:47 UTC
This is an enhancement request to allow the user to add and edit macros. These macros should be accessible from any GUI (Jive, SC, player), and probably located under Favorites. Creating/editing would probably only be available from SC.

This idea occurred to me because I have certain playlists that I only ever play shuffled and others that I only ever play unshuffled. It would be nice to have a single menu item that, for example, selects a playlist and switches the selected player to shuffled mode. There are probably other more interesting uses for macros, such as:

Party Mode
1. All Players: On
2. Sync: All Players
3. Shuffle: By Song
4. Repeat: By Playlist
5. Play: My Party Mix Playlist

Go To Bed
1. Sync: Unsync All
2. Player: Select Bedroom
3. Sleep Mode: 30 Min
4. Play: Sounds & Effects>Natural Sounds>Ocean Surf

I can envision conditionals such as "if (selected player = X);" and other such constructs as well. There would need to be a decent SC GUI editor, but I'm sure some ideas for this could be borrowed from the Harmony folks.

It would also be useful to allow macros to send other commands out via IR Blaster.
