Description Wallace Lai 2008-03-10 10:58:02 UTC
System Info: Does not matter
SC Version: 7.0.1, 17830 -- Seen on older versions also

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start SC.
2. Go to classic skin.
3. On Browser frame, click the "Information Browser" link.
4. Click the "BBC News World" link.
5. Click any news item on the next page.
6. Instead of showing the news, the browser frame shows yet another page with yet another link. Users need to perform one more click to get to what they want read.

For New York Times, how about add the words "Subscription Required" to the link?

Aren't these kinds of things out of our control? Info Browser simply follows what's in the rss feed.
Comment 3 Adrian Smith 2008-03-10 13:22:44 UTC
Yes - all this is doing is displaying the rss feed. This contains a link to the actual story which is displayed, but I don't think we should fetch it.

I don't think we can do anything here.

If people want to write InfoBrowser addons to format the news more appropriately then they can, but it will need to be specific to each feed - see the BBC addon for an example [but this is not part of SC itself]

Reduce number of active targets for SC
