Description James Rome 2008-03-08 08:06:23 UTC
I upgraded my OS X Leopard squeezecenter from the beta version to the release one. Now the pause button on my squeezebox does nothing, the play button seems to act like pause, and sometimes it is impossible to get the music to stop.

I reflashed the squeezebox. Pulled the power. No help.

But if I connect to squeezecenter running on my Linux machine, it works just fine. I conclude that something is screwed up with the Mac version of squeezecenter. It worked OK with the beta version.

Which beta version did work fine for you? Full re-install would work (make a backup of your configuration)?
Comment 2 James Rome 2008-03-10 07:19:52 UTC
I deleted it, so am not sure. The release version also does not start automatically (bug 7471) for me when I log in.
It also showed NO artists yesterday in the database scan, even though I have a huge collection. A full rescan fixed this.

Yesterday the mac version worked OK for me, but something funny is going on.

The install program was unable to access the /Library folder because it never asked me for a password.

Did you re-try the official build? We should really know if there's something wrong with it.

Now that would explain quite a few bits. If it can't be installed, then don't expect it to work...

But I installed it to be used by myself only, which should not access the system files.

If it needs to do that, it should ask for the password.

I reinstalled it with no errors. We will see....

James, are you still having issues with SqueezeCenter on your Mac? If so you might want to try removing all traces of SlimServer/SqueezeCenter for your system and install SqueezeCenter from scratch.

For SqueezeCenter I belive the paths are:
- Home > Library > Application Support > SqueezeCenter Folder
-  Home > Library > PreferencePanes > SqueezeCenter.prefPane
-  Home > Library > Caches > SqueezeCenter folder
-  Home > Library > Preferences > com.slim.*
- Macintosh HD > Library > PreferencePanes > SqueezeCenter.prefPane (may or may not exist)

For SlimServer I belive the paths are:
* home -> Library -> SlimDevices
* home -> Library -> PreferencePanes -> SlimServer.prefPane
* home -> Library -> Caches -> SlimServer
* home -> Library -> Preferences -> com.slim*
* hard disk -> Library -> SlimDevices (may or may not exist)
* hard disk -> Library -> PreferencePanes -> SlimServer.prefPane (may or may not exist)

Of course support would be happy to help with this as well:

I'm going to close this bug as worksforme, please reopen if it does turn out to be a bug, thanks.

It seems to be working now. I am not sure what was wrong.
