If a SBR with default mac address (00:04:20:ff:ff:01) connects to SN it should not be upgraded.

This is what I guess happened to Matthew J Martin's SBR.

The label on SBR says: 00:04:20:16:06:0C, but it never got programmed into snv ram. The player also reports an all 0 UUID.

I didn't bother fixing this as it's never been seen except for Matthew's bad player.  We discussed it in a bug meeting and marked it won't fix.  Did you reopen it because someone had this problem again?
