The old CLI proxy service needs to get setup on the new SN and made more production-ready.  There are several people who are interested in using it.

This would be very useful for me and would realyl like to see this implemented.

To the powers that be at Logitech. We could really use the capability to utilize the CLI without the requirement of Squeezecenter. This capability alone would greatly increase the attractiveness and marketability of Squeezebox to the custom integration market. Anything you can do to expedite this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This is already available, but not as plain CLI.  You may use 3rd party controllers with the Cometd interface on http://www.squeezenetwork.com:9000/cometd.  This is already in use by iPeng.  Unfortunately, there is not really any documentation at the moment.

Not going to happen, other APIs are better than CLI.
