Bugzilla – Bug 7388
Receiving Rhapsody XML error through SN
Last modified: 2008-12-15 12:16:39 UTC
Exact Rhapsody error reads: Rhapsody Error Internal Rhapsody Error: Cannot authenticate the user Tried connecting to SqueezeCenter nightly build from Friday and Rhapsody works fine, but through SN reccieving this error. A customer reported this issue to me this morning and I was able to reproduce at my desk.
I have had 3 customers today report this same issue. I also have encountered this issue with 2 players at my house.
This problem remains outstanding. I cannot access Rhapsody via a direct Squeezenet connection on the SB3, although it works via the SqueezeCenter connection. The error remains the same: Internal Rhapsody Error.....Parsing error... invalid.... This error appeared with the 86 level firmware download, and was not fixed by A SqueezeCenter 7.0 download. Please advise of further progress, or further actions that can be taken on my part for a solution, although there is little I can do further. I have installed the latest version of SqueezeCenter, but as I said earlier, the problem is not with the SqueezeCenter connection to Rhapsody. It is the SB3-direct-to-SqueezeNetwork/Rhapsody service that is not working. Other services such as Pandora and Internet radio stations are working fine via the SqueezeNetwork path. Surely, I am not the only one with this error? I was advised to update this bug report by Support.
Well that sounds like a different error than the original report. What is your exact error message?
To the best of my ability, the error reads: Internal Rhapsody Error: org.xml.sax;saxpparseexception: character reference "e;&#,"e; is an invalid character give or take a few ":" or ";"
To further clarify: The error occurs when I press PLAY. Access to menus work, but PLAY causes the error. Error occurs on two SB3s, one wireless, one wired ethernet. Another odd behavior, when I switch from SqueezeCenter to Network, the player turns off and must be turned back on to continue on SqueezeNetwork.
Jim, I think I found the problem. Can you please retry?
Sorry to report, the same error occured. Was I supposed to download anything new before trying? Thanks for your help.
OK I think the problem was caused by some cached data. I see your player is disconnected now, so try reconnecting it to SN and see if you still have the problem.
YOU ARE THE MAN! Yes, It is working now. Thanks very much, MR. Andy. Was it a tricky one?
Glad it worked. :)
This bug has been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeNetwork! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
