Bugzilla – Bug 7383
SN should not force Jive upgrades unless absolutely necessary
Last modified: 2008-05-15 12:28:44 UTC
From http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44107 There seems to be some issues with firmware upgrades recently. My variation is as follows. My SBC is running r2022 when I'm connected to SqueezeCenter. If I connect to SqueezeNetwork (Settings -> Music source) I am promted to upgrade to r2085. If I then connect to SqueezeCenter I am "downgraded" to r2022 again. And so on... B. SqueezeCenter version: 7.0.1 - 17788 - Debian - DA - utf8
SN can have 7 and 7.0.1 fw (and future version) to upgrade appropriately depending on whether the user is running beta SC
Re-targetting SN 7.0.1 bugs to ABBA release.
Fixed, the logic is now: If user has Jive 7.0, it will upgrade them to 7.0 r2097. If user has Jive 7.0.1, it will upgrade them to 7.0.1 r2318 (or a later nightly). If user has 7.1 or higher they will not be downgraded. We'll probably want to force 7.0 people to upgrade to 7.0.1, but this can be QA's decision. QA should test SN with both 7.0 r2097 and the latest 7.0.1.
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug. To download this version, please navigate to: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
