Description Wallace Lai 2008-02-26 13:43:47 UTC
System Info: Win 2K, SP4, ENU, Gateway, P4, 2.0 GHz, 1.25 GB of RAM

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start SC.
2. Start the Web UI.
3. Go to SC Settings and point the playlists dir to a directory. Perform a rescan.
4. The songs in this dir shows up on the PlayLists frame.
5. Use telnet to add another folder to the PlayLists. Use telnet to perform a rescan.
6. The list of songs in the Playlists frame changes.
7. Refresh the Web UI and go back to SC Settings.
8. Notice the PLAYLISTS FOLDER is still pointing to the old folder only.

Wallace: can you attach a log of the CLI transaction?

I'm only seeing a "playlist add" command in all of that log, so seems to be working "as designed". Adding a playlist via cli simply triggers a scan of the given url or path and adds those contents to the current playlist. If the folder contains playlist, then having those show up in the Browse Playlists menu is simply a result of the scan. The playlist add cli command does not change the playlist folder pref, which can only have one folder set at any given time.

Thanks to the cli and the separate scanner.exe/scanner.pl, there are many ways to end up with tracks in the database that do not come from the standard server settings for music sources (music folder, playlist folder, musicIP, iTunes)

You can't add a folder to the playlist folder setting.
