Description John Gill 2004-12-15 08:02:40 UTC
Squeezebox is connected to home network, and upon setup, the unit successfully
received an IP address "lease." The lease is good for 12 hours. After the
expiration of the IP lease, the unit could not connect to Slim Server, and Slim
Server showed "your player was not found." DHCP server confirmed that the unit
had no active IP lease.

Upon powering off (unplugging power supply) and powering on the Squeexbox unit,
it successfully obtained an IP adddress from the DHCP server.

Is the Squeezebox not renewing it's address? If it's not, then this is definitively a bug.

Chris, can you verify that it is?

This might be a good bug for felix to look at if confirmed.

I could not reproduce this bug.

That is to say, Squeezebox with FW81 seemed to be able to renew its lease when the old one expired. I tested this by telling my wireless router (which has a DHCP server of course) to give ridiculously short leases (5 minutes).
