Description Blackketter Dean 2008-02-23 16:48:57 UTC
Posted by Mark Lanctot in the thread listed above:

This is easily reproducible with me.

1. Go to home page.

2. Put SBC down, allow Flickr screensaver to activate.

3. In time, button backlight deactivates, screen dims then turns off,
as expected.

4. Wake up controller by picking it up. Do not spin wheel or press
any button. Screen shows Flickr screensaver, buttons backlit.

5. Put down controller. Screen remains at full brightness, cycling
through Flickr images, buttons remain backlit indefinitely. The
controller does not turn off the button backlight, dim or turn off the
screen. It might sleep, but I haven't let it sit for an hour to check.
I suspect the buttons and screen would remain at full brightness the
entire time though.

I'm not sure if this is with other screensavers too. Also my SC7 is
not normally running, so my pre-production SBC isn't connected to any
music source (i.e. only 3 items in home menu: Settings, Extras, Choose
Player).

To stop this behavior, all I have to do is turn the wheel or push a
button to get to a menu, but step 4 could be triggered simply by a
slight bump on the table.

Should I file a bug? This could wear down the battery awfully quickly.

I'm not able to reproduce this here.

This also occurs when the SBC is connected to either SqueezeNetwork or SC7.
