If I browse to a song by an artist that is not associated with an album for example Tori Amos - Angie, the song info page displays:

Album Artist: Death In Vegas, Leona Lewis, Page & Plant, Coverdale & Page
Artist: Tori Amos
Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach
Track Artist: Liam Gallagher, Death In Vegas, Leona Lewis, Take That, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, David Coverdale
Album: No Album
Genre: Alternative
Year: 1992
Compilation: Yes

The Album Artist, Composer and Track Artist information are completely wrong. That song is only by Tori Amos. There is no Album Artist or other contributing artists for that song. I think the problem is that it has picked up information from all "No Album" songs from all artists.

Also, if I click on Album "No Album", I would expect to go to "Home > Tori Amos > No Album" i.e. to see all songs by that artist that are on "No Album", but instead it takes me to "Home > Albums > No Album" and I see all songs by all artists that have no album tag.

I have tried setting COMPILATION=0 for all No Album songs, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

I have tried setting ALBUMARTIST=Tori Amos for all Tori Amos songs that haven't got an album tag, but that didn't help either.

Phil - could you please upload a sample file? This seems to be working for me with the files I have.

I could upload some example songs, but I think that's irrelevant. There's nothing wrong with the tags; it's how SqueezeCenter is treating "No Album".

If you have several songs without an ALBUM tag, they will all belong to an album called "No Album". Browsing to song info for one of these songs will display lots of irrelevant tag data that has been picked up for other songs on "No Album".

i.e. SqueezeCenter can only have one "No Album" album, so a single song without an album tag by "Tori Amos" would be considered part of the same "No Album" as a Megadeath song, or the same "No Album" as a song with a composor of "Beethoven". That means that when browsing the Tori Amos song, it displays all Band, Orchestra, Composers, etc, that are connected with any No Album song.

eg. song info for *any* song on "No Album" displays:

Album Artist: U2, Death In Vegas, Leona Lewis, Ocean Colour Scene, Page & Plant, Coverdale & Page
Artist: Starsailor
Band/Orchestra: Sylvian & Fripp, Sparks vs. Faith No More
Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven, Johann Sebastian Bach
Track Artist: U2, Liam Gallagher, Death In Vegas, Leona Lewis, Take That, Ocean Colour Scene, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Noel Gallagher, David Coverdale, Daniel Lanois

You will not find any tags with those contributor values in the vast majority of my songs with no ALBUM tag!

'No Album' right now is just another album, when really it needs to be special.
