Bugzilla – Bug 7287
Jive will get "lost" when using IR remote to change Music Source
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:17:36 UTC
When the Jive is connected to a Transporter or SB2/3 as the player, and the IR remote or transporter UI are used to switch music source, some times the Jive will get "lost" and not know which music source is active on the player. After ~ 2 min the Jive will reconnect to the player and get on the right music source. This error used to happen quite allot (RC1) but has improved with RC2. To get the error to happen now, I must be in very specific menus on the Jive. Favorites > Item 1 > play -- while in this menu, use the IR or Transporter to switch music sources. Notice on the Jive, it does not change music source when the Player does. At this point, the Jive may not function properly, wait about 2 minutes and the jive will reconnect. Radio IO > Any Item > play -- while playing a Radio IO channel, and the pair are connected to SN, switch to SC. Notice the Jive display does not update properly. Radio Time > Any Item > play -- while playing a Radio IO channel, and the pair are connected to SN, switch to SC. Notice the Jive display does not update properly. A few times during my tests, the Jive becomes unhappy, and may need to be turned off / on to recover. Waiting the ~2 min may not reset the jive properly.
Richard: do your new fixes address this?
Todays fixes may partly address this. This will be fully fixed by bug 6683.
James: can you test with the new build and post your results here?
I have tested this a little over the weekend, and Monday morning. I still see the problem in a few sub-menu items with Monday's build of SC. I will do more testing today if needed, to figure out which exact menus have the bugs if needed.
Closing this bug. With the firmware 7.0 R2090, the Jive will always re-connect to the proper music source either; immediately , waiting less then 2 minutes or going to the Home Menu.
