Press and hold pause currently means 'stop'.
It would be much more useful if it switched off the currently attached player.

I don't agree with this request...I think press-hold on pause should do exactly what the IR remote does, which is "stop".

maybe simply calling pause.hold button function makes it the same enough, and if someone wanted bad enough to remap, then the ir map file would take care of that?

could be used for all controller buttons, allowing button mapping with a common scheme (though obviously it's no longer an IRmap)

Nope, pause-hold is stop, we need that to be consistent.
