Description Ross Levine 2008-02-21 17:02:34 UTC
r1992 factory reset, hold back to break out of setup, go to network update. Copying update is displayed indefinitely and I cannot break out by holding the back button.
Comment 1 Ross Levine 2008-02-21 17:03:02 UTC
David also reports this issue with r1985.
Comment 2 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-22 06:53:12 UTC
Richard: is this expected?
Comment 3 Richard Titmuss 2008-02-22 06:54:10 UTC
I think originally it was not possible to get to this menu while not connected to a network, so this case was not handled.
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-22 09:22:25 UTC
Ross: is there any other way to reproduce this besides breaking out of setup?
Comment 5 Ross Levine 2008-02-22 11:59:46 UTC
I'm not able to reproduce this any way other than breaking out by holding the left arrow.
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-22 12:17:03 UTC
For 7.0.1, we should probably handle this more gracefully, but this won't stop 7.0
Comment 7 Ben Klaas 2008-07-01 09:13:22 UTC
this is not making it into 7.1
Comment 8 Richard Titmuss 2008-07-24 04:21:50 UTC
We should only show Network Update menu after getting a firmware url from SC/SN. This should be a reasonably easy fix.
Comment 9 Blackketter Dean 2008-08-06 12:41:08 UTC
Richard: Should this be assigned to you, then?
Comment 10 Ben Klaas 2008-11-03 21:00:59 UTC
fixed, 7.3 r3266

Software Update menu will not show a Network Update item if no firmware url is available. The menu itself is still available, as it may be populated by firmware item(s) from the SD card.
