I would like to suggest a slightly different feature:

One should be able to create a "scannable" list of radio stations (or I guess songs if one really wanted) 
that is accessed through the player. It might appear as a new top menu. One would add to it through 
the add button or by editing a file on the server. The key new bit would be that this list is scannable so 
that clicking one key (right arrow?) moves to the next station in the list. Perhaps a double click or some 
other key would automatically move from one station to the next til you tell it to stop. 

So this ends up being like your friendly tuner.... Scan and search functions, but just through the list of 
stations you specified. I guess there could be a scan/search all stations too...
