Description Dominic Evans 2008-02-18 04:25:53 UTC
Would be nice if when powering down (home key held) user should be given option to Suspend OR turn of completely. For example, when you wont be using it and want to start saving battery power without having to go and dock it.

That's a good idea, Dominic. I propose the following changes:

In the Turn Off menu choice in Settings, add "Suspend" and "Power Off"

If the user presses and holds the Power button for 2 seconds, suspend, if they hold for 4, power off completely.

per discussion today, bug fixes are targetted for 7.0.1, new features for 7.1. This is the latter.

wiping priority field in 7.1 target bugs, as the priorities that were set as 7.0 target bugs are not relevant here.
Comment 4 Ben Klaas 2008-05-28 14:33:58 UTC
this has been added in 7.1 r2536. I'm calling it "Sleep" and not "Suspend", as I think that's the word most users will be familiar with.

I did not add press-hold-2second and press-hold-4second handlers. There isn't support for that in our Event handlers right now, and IMO seems like overkill.

Reopen if there is issue with my implementation.
