Description Barry Gordon 2008-02-16 15:34:07 UTC
Transporter playing through digital outputs encoded DTS tracks, with digital output set to a fixed level:

Response to A CLI command of the form <player ID> mixer volume ? echos what is sent but does not return the expected volume as documented. Even with the digital outputs set as fixed shouldn't the mixer operate in case the analog outputs are also in use? I would expect something like "<player ID> mixer volume +50". I believe there was also a prefrence that was cominng back on volume changes but I do not see those either with the 2/16 build in this situation. This was working with prior versions of the Squeeze center (the last one I used was the 2/1 nightly. I use the IR blaster plugin to send the necessary volume commands to the music processor (Lexicon) and all of that is working. As I send volume +N or volume -N commands the plugin sends the IR command for volume change to the lexicon, but there is no feedback back to the CLI client or the jive client that the volume has changed or what it is. It would just be nice if the mixer volume was reported at all times.

It appears to be fine with a SB3 playing regular CD's where the digital outputs are not in use.

Steven: Can you have a look at this one

Using a Transporter set to 'Digital output level is fixed' and connected to SqueezeCenter 7.0 - 17793 final I am not seeing an issue with the cli mixer volume commands. For example:

Request:<player ID> mixer volume ?
Response:<player ID> mixer volume 25

Request:<player ID> mixer volume +10
Response:<player ID> mixer volume +10

Request:<player ID> mixer volume ?
Response:<player ID> mixer volume 35

Request:<player ID> mixer volume 75
Response:<player ID> mixer volume 75

Request:<player ID> mixer volume ?
Response:<player ID> mixer volume 75

All of the above responses are the expected result according to the documentation. I am inclined to resolve this as works for me.

Barry, are you still seeing issues with SqueezeCenter 7.0?
