Config Options to have "PlayNext" as an configurable default behavior for "AddTracks"
Last modified: 2008-11-19 14:07:59 UTC
I would like to see a config option to change the default behavior for adding tracks to the current playlists in such a way, that new tracks are added after the currently playing track. This is available as an additional functionality in some skins but I would like to see it as a configurable default behavior.
Interesting request. Will consider post 7.0.
I'd prefer to see an option to simply add the 'play next' button/control to all skins. Not a change in behavior, but control over whether or not the button is displayed.
Definitely do NOT want to simply add "play next" to all skins. Don't have space for an additional button on my skin (iPeng).
any skin should be able to change the command given for any button just by changing the url for the image. This doesn't need to be server side and doesn't need to be something that has to affect all skins, thus not have to be managed by all skins (default play set to insert, what do you then do with the insert links???) In fact, the mechanism is already there as you just have to use insertlink or playlist TT objects. You can easily choose which is default by adding an option page to the skin to either save a cookie or save a pref.
Completely agreed. I don't care too much for the feature but there seemed to be some demand in the forum. So the enhancement request.
I am of the opinion that the default skin should at least provide the same functionality as the remote. I'm not concerned what other skins do. There needs to be an "Add Next" button in addition to the "Add" button. The primary reason I need this functionality is the inability to properly manage the "Now Playing" playlist. If I have 200 tracks queued up to play, displaying 50 at a time (default), and playing track number 5 there's no way for me to add a track to the end then "drag" it up to play next using the default skin. The only (unacceptable) work around to this is to change how many tracks to display at a time so it's all on a single page.
