Bugzilla – Bug 7175
7.0 over 6.5.4: Artists count became zero.
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:17:11 UTC
Here is a bug mentioned by a forum user called amcfarla: I just upgraded to squeezecenter 7 yesterday, and in the 6.54 version it would show all the artists that I had in my music library. During the scan it showed all the artists I have, but when it completed the artist count showed as 0. When you bring up the artist there is nothing listed there. Albums are showing up and when I did an album search and found an album it would show the artist there, but when I clicked on the artist it showed zero albums for that artist. I have done three scans and still comes up the same. Anyone else have this issue with the new version. I have attached a picture of my library stats. Thanks. I did do a full wipe and scan, and it still showed zero artists. The only way I can search for music is by album or song. I am going try to completely uninstall the application and reinstall and see if that solves the problems. Reply With Quote
This is what I posted on the forum after an attempt ot reproduce: Hi, I tried on Win 2K. All artists with English names showed up properly after 7.0 over 6.5.4 install. However, two artists with Asian names went missing. May I ask what OS you are using? Are the names of artists in English? Thanks
Wallace: please open a separate bug about the asian names with details and sample files.
Wallace, please add a link to the thread in the URL field.

Wallace to continue to reproduce for 7.0.1.
Tried to reproduce this again with 7.2-18216. Artists count show up just fine. Has anyone else seen this bug. I am marking it as "WORKSFORME" for now.
This is the work around posted by another forum user: OK; progress - of a sort. Under the Compilation heading in Music Library with "Group Compilations" and "List Albums by Band" selected, and a full rescan I now have Artists! Go figure... -- Neil That sounds like an easy work around.
Still unable to reproduce this bug with 7.0.1-19251. Plus the workaround posted by Neil sopunds pretty simple. Closing for now. If problem is seen, please reopen.
