Bugzilla – Bug 7163
Service setup pages consistency request
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:29:50 UTC
I suggest we make the RadioIO Page look more like the other pages, and include 2 "buttons" that users can use to a) Register for an account and b) logon to an existing account. While the Description text at the top of the page has a "registered" link, IMHO it's not clear from a user prospective that I need to click on that link to create an account.
Agreed. Slacker & MP3Tunes have the right layout. ALL of the tabs should have that same arrangement with a top area with icon and descriptive text and a bottom half with settings/account information. This includes the SN tab. CSS is your friend. Michael: can you take a look at this?
Looking at this - but still far from fixing :-/. Rhapsody, Live365 and RadioTime need the same changes.
IMHO this is much more than a CSS fix, but rather needs larger changes in the underlying application code (Perl) too.
Live365 covered in change 2608
Change 2609 - RadioIO
Change 2610 - RadioTime
Change 2611 - Rhapsody Please test this change - I'm a bit confused about the use of non_us in the skin: in the previous version it would display a message "not available outside the US" if non_us was _not_ set. I changed this logic to fit what I assume is correct: non_us is set if the country code is not 'US'.
Michael Slacker / MP3tunes / Rhapsody / Pandora -- These look OK now. Live365 / RadioIO / RadioTime / Last.fm -- These still need work to make the UI Consistant. Verified in SqueezeNetwork r2623/r17641
Is it worth cluttering the UI with unnecessary buttons just for the sake of consistency? The difference between the services you consider ok and those you don't like is that the first group has subscription forms etc. on SN whereas subscription for the latter is done on the service provider's site. Adding a button instead of a link to get there imho is bad style. Adding a first page with a button to get to the page with the actual form imho is added complexity with no advantage over displaying the form right on the first page.
Dean - what do you mean?
Ping Dean...
They look perfectly fine to me. Marking fixed.
