I'm waiting for support of <a href="http://www.xmradio.com/xstream/">XM
online</a>, before I buy a SB2. XM online used to come only with an extra fee,
but it's now included with every XM subscription. That's a whole lot of
potential customers (me included)!

Marking items that aren't going to be addressed immediately in 6.1 as future. Please update if this is in
error or the bug has already been addressed.

I have a Sirius subscription and would love to be able to stream the Internet
play to my Squeezebox 1.0. If anyone figures this one out I would love to hear
about it. Thank you.

Here is a link to a cross platform Sirius player that I believe would port very
easily to Slimserver. It's written in Python, and only the non-gui modules
need to be ported to Perl -- not a lot of code. The streams are ASX and involve
a login/token authentication to get them started. This player has all the logic
for doing this very simply mapped out.

I've looked at some of the other existing slim streaming radio plugins and to
someone familiar with Perl, this should be a straight up task. If I knew Perl,
I'd write it, but I'm a python guy.

Here is the link to the Sirius Player source (called XPlay):

Noticed that Sirius streaming capability is on the roadmap for 6.5. Excellent.

Came across this posting, the other day explaining how to grab the Sirius stream using their token (hash/key) methodology.

Such info should help speed compatibility with Slimserver

I see that someone has an Add-In well underway.

Hello,

I am about to choose between XM and Sirius for my car.

I am leaning toward Sirius, mainly because it would appear that Slim Devices' support seems more likely than support for XM (based on what I've been reading here).

Can you tell us if Squeezebox will likely support one before the other of these satellite streams and which first?

Thanks,
Geo

Geo, you won't get answers to those kinds of questions. Dates are not given for future features. Also, this is not a support forum. You should be asking questions in http://forums.slimdevices.com. Check the Plugins forum and you'll find that there is a plugin for accessing XM and possibly sirius.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Yes, this has been fixed for a long while.
