Comparing the home page in FireFox 2.x and I.E. 6.x, I noticed that the firefox page was missing the teal bar at the bottom of the page.

can't reproduce - see it in Opera, IE, FF. Can you provide a screenshot? jpeg or png, please ;-)

This may have been fixed in a later build of SN, I forgot to say which verison I saw it in at the time.  I will retest this with the latest WEB builds
