Description James Richardson 2008-02-12 12:56:05 UTC
The "now playing" WEB part is a different size when you are in the Browse Section (http://www.squeezenetwork.com/browse), then from the HOME (http://www.squeezenetwork.com/userHome) section or other web parts.

This causes the Album Art to be severly cut off. See examples attached

Using FireFox 2.0.0.12, the Browse screen will display Vertical and Horizontal scroll bars.

The home screen will not

In future, can we convert bmp screenshots to jpg before attaching. It will save a lot of download time for the global dev/testers.
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2008-02-15 23:19:44 UTC
what's the expected behaviour here? As the layout uses a fixed size, can we still resize that panel?
Comment 6 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-16 11:57:55 UTC
Holy crap, those _are_ big files. :)

The basic requirement is to have the artwork not be cut off and not require scrolling, though we'll need a layout that accomplishes this.

I'll mock something up and attach once my main computer is alive.

A modest change to fit the album art in

Note that Now Playing has been moved up, we've lost the station name (in order to make the album art reasonable size), and the service icon and buttons have been moved down (to fill that empty space).

patch to achieve Dean's desing #1

This patch might get us going. Please note that I wasn't able to test this, as I can't connect any player to the test instance.

- replace the static (non-localizable) "Player" header with the player's state
- reduce some vertical spacing
- reduce cover size
- remove the "by" and "from" labels

Michael: How can we help you get a player attached to that service so you can test?

Comment 14 Blackketter Dean 2008-02-18 07:27:13 UTC
I'd like one more change, to remove the partner icon from that screen. It's not adding anything and looks unbalanced. Plus, if there's no album art for a partner song, we'll use their placeholder with their graphic, right?
Comment 15 Michael Herger 2008-02-18 07:29:44 UTC
The problem is I have to tunnel all networking to that machine through two hops, forwarding ports etc.. This is just a pain and unreliable. Plus the connection often gets shut down if I don't use the shell every few minutes. Add to this that I wasn't able to start my own/restart the main SN service :-/.

I'm now setting up my own instance on my local machine - hopefully in time to be of some help _soon_.

Matt should be able to test those patches.

That should be easy enough.

I'm not sure this has been migrated from SC yet.

Comment 18 Michael Herger 2008-02-18 11:33:55 UTC
my change didn't cover all the issues - have to align panel heights on different pages, too.

change 2587 - fix height for favorites/rss/podcast/settings to allow netcontrol enough space
