Volume control doesn't work when Winamp is the only player
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:26:52 UTC
If Winamp is the only player available, the volume control is locked at the lowest volume setting. If a Squeezebox is also available, you can adjust the volume while on that player; it will carry over to Winamp. If stop and restart with no Squeezebox, goes back to locked and low.
It's not possible to control the volume of a Winamp "player", that's why it's locked and low. Switching to the Squeezebox should reenable the volume control. Is this not what you are seeing?

Yes; I see that if I am on the network with my Squeezebox. However, I have SC loaded on my laptop, and I use it to control play through Winamp for better control of Last.FM, XM Radio, MusicIP mixes, etc. when I travel. Could not the default for Winamp be set to locked at high? Essentially, there is very little sound getting to Winamp from SC. How do I change this to a change request if it is working as designed?
