Description James Richardson 2008-02-08 14:08:24 UTC
If there is a SPACE in the Name Feild on this page, then the greeting string at the top of the page will only display text up to the space.

I.E. NAME = James Richardson > Greeting = James

This is not a bug, raher, is functionality spec'd by marketing - greeting uses your first name or email if no first name exists. This is common practice for login greetings and considered more personal to use first name.

Matthew:

OK, I understand the marketing reason for this.

The only time this may be a problem, is when someone has a 2 part first name. This is very common with Aisan names. I.E. Yeow Ming HO.

You may want to bring this to the attention of Marketing, to see how they want to handle this instance.

My Suggestion would be to have seperate First & Faimly name box's. Then, just display what ever is typed in the First name box as the greeting.

Name is not used for anything other than salutation - we could remove name entry altogether, leave as is, or split into two fields.

Adding yet another field to the registration is probably a bad idea, since this will eventually include gallery style parter service signup and the LEAST information we request/present, the better for the user. Since name is not used for anything, I recommend either leaving as is, or removing completely.
