Description Kevin Pearsall 2004-12-02 10:27:04 UTC
Received some very intuitive suggestions on how sleep functionality could be
improved. Personally I like the second one since, well, if you have a song that
ends abruptly it could wake you up if you're already asleep when it happens...
Fading out would be really neat.

Sleep timer
If I play a particular play list for example that might really be 2 hours worth
of tracks, then I set the sleep timer to say, 60mins - chances are that the
sleep timer would shut down the player somewhere part way into a track. It would
be really good if the software realised that the sleep timer had expired but
then waited until the track now playing had finished and then shut down player.

Or alternatively, when the sleep timer expires, the track slowly fades out.

actually, it used to fade. pre-5.x I think.
Comment 2 Fred 2005-04-02 08:57:53 UTC
It fades, but there was a bug in the fading routine that is now corrected, causing it to kill the music
abruptly.

Issue now from a Command.pm perspective is that the fading happens after the sleep period, that is,
during the fading time the player is not reported sleeping. Will fix that, but this bug can be closed
IMHO.

fred, your latest patch to the list fixes the sleep status in cli?
Comment 4 Fred 2005-04-26 14:08:11 UTC
Yes, it fixes it. Sorry for late reply but I am not copied on all bugs :-)

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
