Bugzilla – Bug 6981
Don't just display Off in Now Playing when device is off
Last modified: 2008-05-15 13:03:15 UTC
I don't like the new behaviour of just displaying Off in the Now Playing menu when a player is off. I understand the semantics behind this, but I miss the ability to quickly browse the music that I've just been listening to using the Now Playing menu. Given that just displaying Off actually wastes a lot of space, is there not a way that Now Playing could indicate that the player is off, but still show the current playlist? One further gripe is that the current Off screen looks rather unfinished. It's (again) the large amount of empty space on the screen, and the small font size used to render Off. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=265927
Let's discuss this on the call at 9.
partial fix in SC change 17283. There will also need to be a jive fix, which will come later today. Michael-- can you review that change and see how it will affect the webUI? From my tests, the one thing it does is shows the current playlist track regardless of power state, which I see as an improvement.
Ben - I _think_ this shouldn't be a problem. A quick test approved this. Will test a bit more in depth tomorrow, but I'm optimistic nothing's broken.
fixed in r1836
Is this fixed? If I select Now Playing when a device is off, I now get a screen showing the current track and Stopped at the top. However, pressing center takes me to a Now Playing screen that says Off and nothing else, as before. It's particularly confusing that the first screen actually says 1 of 27 at the top, despite the fact that I can't get to any of the other tracks. This is partly a separate bug - I'll get filing.
Max- update your SqueezeCenter. There were changes on both sides of the fence to support this.
I was bang up to date when I filed this, or at least I thought I was. Will check again tonight.
Confirming fixed. Must have forgotten a restart yesterday - sorry.
This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug. To download this version, please navigate to: http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html
