Description Spies Steven 2008-02-05 22:23:16 UTC
While setting up Squeezebox Duet with MP firmware to connect to SqueezeNetwork, SBC often times out before SBR is finished updating. This is especially true with slower networks such as SqueezeTest.

Steps to reproduce:
1 Make sure both SBR and SBC have MP firmware, currently 18 and 1425, and both are in a factory reset state.
2 Delete both SBR and SBC from SqueezeCenter using the admin tool, mine were 00:04:20:1A:04:57 and 0:04:20:16:08:05. This step may not be necessary.
3 Connect both SBR and SBC to your network, I used the standard wireless configuration.
4 When asked to choose a music source pick SqueezeNetwork.
5 Notice if it takes more then 85 seconds for SBR to update and reconnect to SN that SBC will time out.

I will also try and see if newer SBC firmware has the same issue

This needs to get fixed on SN.

OK, I have this about halfway solved. Ray can wait and not update firmware until after Jive updates, but we need to figure out when to perform the firmware update.

After you update from MP firmware you will come back to the PIN screen. We can tell Ray to update at this time but it means the network connection would get dropped in bridged mode. Perhaps we need to add a wait screen here if player_needs_upgrade = 1 before showing the PIN screen?

OK this half of the bug is fixed. Will need more work in bug 6984.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
