Description Alan Young 2008-02-05 09:07:26 UTC
In Jive, controlling an SB1: Settings / Music Source. Select a different SC just gives bump left, presumably because it knows that it cannot change the source for an SB1. Shouldn't there be an error message? Or even not offer Music Source when controlling an SB1 or SliMP3.
Comment 1 Richard Titmuss 2008-03-14 03:27:53 UTC
The music source menu servers two purposes, to allow you to change player and also to allow you to see the available servers and enter the ip address of a different server. So this screen should always be offered.

It does bump as changing the music source is not relevant for older players (and also you don't see a -> on the menu item). I am not sure an error message is required, Dean?

Raising to P1 as text changes may be needed.

I don't particularly think anything is necessary here...SB1 and SliMp3 aren't overly inconvenienced here, and it's probably more trouble then it's worth--after all, those are the hard core long-time users that are capable of "getting it".
Comment 3 Blackketter Dean 2008-03-30 22:52:50 UTC
When you have a player that isn't capable of being switched to another music source, then it makes sense that the only choice here would be to add a new server IP address and not display the other servers.

This isn't crucial for 7.0.1
Comment 4 Ben Klaas 2008-06-02 00:02:47 UTC
do not show servers that can't be connected to by a given player
fixed 7.1 r2538
