Bugzilla – Bug 6858
No reaction from Jive when "Network update" is selected.
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:14:55 UTC
Jive FW: 7.0 r1658 Steps to Reproduce: 1. Turn on the Jive with 7.0 r1658. 2. Jive would go to software update screen right away. 3. Click "Network update". 4. Notice there is no reaction at all. 5. Click "Update from SD card". 6. Notice nothing happens either. Jive does not go into copy update mode, not a warning that update is not needed. There is simply no reaction whatsoever.
Richard can confirm, but this should already be fixed. It relates to a battery level check which causes the update to fail to start. Putting Jive in the dock should work. from post (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=263698&postcount=2): "My bad, sorry. You'll need to start the firwmare upgrade in the dock. Before starting an upgrade Jive checks the battery level, I accidentally introduced a typo a couple of days ago in the code that performs that check. This effects r1650 - r1676. After the 7.0 release is completed we are going to setup an automated test of the firmware upgrades for the nightly builds to try and prevent these upgrade problems occurring again."
Thanks, KDF. I see. The firmware update process has started when the Jive is in the dock. I just stated learning how to write Lua applet to auto test Jive firmware update, and other functions. So far, I am still learning.
Alright, when in the dock, Jive was able to update the FW toi 7.0 r1668.
Fixed in r1676.
VErified with Jive FW 7.0 r1841. Jive was able to update to newer firmware without being in the dock. Marking as "VERIFIED".
Closing.
