Description Richard Titmuss 2008-01-29 13:59:20 UTC
This can lead to the "Problem Connecting" screen. If you wait a little while jive detects the player correctly. It is an intermittent fault.
Comment 1 Andy Grundman 2008-01-30 09:26:16 UTC
I can't reproduce this.
Comment 2 Blackketter Dean 2008-01-30 09:47:48 UTC
Any details, Richard?

Comment 3 Richard Titmuss 2008-01-30 09:58:42 UTC
It happens for me a lot yesterday, and a little earlier. It's working now. I'll try again later.

Richard, this is probably related so I'm tacking it on here. I was trying SC <-> SN switching of an SB3 today both via the IR remote (using SB3 menu entry for Connect To SN/SC) and using Jive "Music Source". I tested with r1699 and r1713, both of them seemed to do fine when the current player is moved from SC to SN (via IR or Choose Music), but both versions have issues going from SN to SC. Sometimes it doesn't notice for a bit (in the IR case), and in either case the "Connecting to Playername" spinner/overlay thing goes on indefinitely, while sometimes a full menu (or other hard to see things) show up underneath it. Backarrow-ing out of the stuck "Connecting ..." screen seems to get jive sane again and you can control the player fine, but then some seconds later another "Connecting to playername" will pop up for no apparent reason.

I've attached two log captures from r1713. sc_to_sn.txt is the successful SC -> SN transition, sn_to_sc.txt is the not-so-successful SN -> SC transition. FWIW (not much), r1699's misbehavior seemed less bad than r1713 subjectively (easier to get things working right again by backarrowing out of things and reselecting players, etc).

This appears much better now.

I still see a problem when linking jive to SN at the same time as changing a player's music source. The first serverstatus messages has a player count of 0, and this only updates after 60 secs.
Comment 8 Andy Grundman 2008-02-03 12:15:52 UTC
I think this should be fixed now.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.

This bug appears to have resurfaced with r2722 r36. Testing 7.1-21854 and test.sn I find that my Duet will get lost when going from SN to SC.

This does not happen with the Transporter r50 or SB2/3 r101
Comment 11 Ross Levine 2008-07-21 15:17:59 UTC
I'm seeing issues going from SC to SN, about a third of the time Duet is lost briefly, Ray goes blue, Jive says Problem Connecting prompts go back or try again. Sometimes Duet reconnects on its own without the prompt.
Comment 12 James Richardson 2008-07-21 15:43:31 UTC
Verified this does NOT happen with Production.SN and 7.2 r2722/r36
Comment 13 Chris Owens 2008-07-24 10:29:21 UTC
Marking it fixed for 7.2, not reproducible enough to stop 7.1.
Comment 14 James Richardson 2008-12-15 12:39:48 UTC
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
