A newly attached player gets its name (i.e. Squeezebox <nr>) automatically assigned, which is used and shown in the drop down box to choose a player in SC and SC settings.
However the Player Name edit field in the Basic Settings page is empty. I think it would be better to also show the automatically generated name here.

Seems like a reasonable tweak.

We should not only dynamically create a name which is returned by $client->name (or whatever it does), but save it as the player's name. And we should not allow empty player names. This seems to cause some trouble (according to Felix).

Given the issues that it seems to trigger (see 7391), shouldn't the severity of this bug be raised ?

Oops... yes, it should. Not a blocker though, as the workaround is pretty simple.

This bug has recently been fixed in the latest release of SqueezeCenter 7.0.1

Please try that version, if you still see the error, then reopen this bug.
