Bugzilla – Bug 6776
Last.fm "loved" tracks are not posted
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:29:40 UTC
SqueezeCenter now has Last.fm functionality included in the software (no longer a plugin). Been using it since mid-December, and it has worked well. I noticed a new Last.fm feature after installing the 1-15-08 build of SqueezeCenter. While a track is playing, a user can push the right arrow on the remote, which in turn displays the message: "Last.fm: Love this track". Pushing right arrow again displays the message: "This track has been loved." Unfortunately, the track never appears under the "Recently Loved" section of Last.fm. Tracks that are loved using the Last.fm client running on a Mac or PC are posted to this section almost immediately, so I do not believe this is an issue with Last.fm's servers (though they do perform poorly at times). This problem is reproducible under the 1-23-08 build. Have not tried any other builds at this time. I'm not sure where the logs for this functionality are stored, so I did not include them. If you would like to see those logs, please let me know where I can find them and I will upload them to you. Thanks for your help. Love the new software, by the way. MusicIP integration is a godsend.
andy: is this yours?
The problem is the Last.fm-side API is broken, they require both the scrobbler API to submit a love rating as well as another API call to also submit the rating. They have told me that this will be fixed soon so I am not going to implement it using their old 2-API method. Perhaps I should remove the love feature until it is actually working.
This bug is being closed since it was resolved for a version which is now released! Please download the new version of SqueezeCenter (formerly SlimServer) at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html If you are still seeing this bug, please re-open it and we will consider it for a future release.
