Bugzilla – Bug 6678
Setting for default Player
Last modified: 2011-03-16 04:45:48 UTC
Need for an "optional" setting for a "default" player in the Player UI? For those that only use one player it is a bit inconvinent to have to select "a" player when there is only "one" in the list.
do you mean Web UI? There should be no need to select a player, on the player screen itself.
I think it's a little confusing in the web ui when you have drop downs that have just a single item. Drop downs don't normally work like this in a web interface. Can drop downs be deactivated, and shown without an arrow when there's only a single selection? Also, in all the drop-downs, including those used for sub-page selection, can the 'current' item be marked with a bullet? That would be helpful.
I'm confused. Are you saying that _no_ player is selected? That shouldn't happen. Or is it that the wrong player selected?
In (some, not all) other places in the web ui where the javascript drop downs are used, the selected item is marked with a bullet. Look in the upper right corner of the main window, where you have the player selector. Even with a single player, it's marked with a bullet. But in the Settings/Player tab, you have pretty much the same drop down, but no bullet. It's easy to think that no player is selected.
So, is the only change requested that a bullet be displayed on that item?
change 16562 - use a cookie to remember the last selected player. This player will be activated automatically by the web interface, if players only show up after the web interface has been loaded. The bullet should always be there if a player is selected. tamanaco - is this how you expected the player selector to work?
tamanaco - is this how you expected the player selector to work? -------------------------------------------------------------- This would work... To "remember" the last player used and use it when I reconnect fulfills my request. This would make it convinient as I won't to select the "only" player I use every time I reconnect. The bullet is a nice visual aid for those who use several players to recognize which one is being used.
Is this fixed for you? "This _would_ work" isn't very clear to me :-)

Is it fixed? Yes or No?
(In reply to comment #10) > Is it fixed? Yes or No? Yes!... It is fixed. I just installed today's build and works as I expected it. Thanks...
Great, thanks!
