Description Jesse David Hollington 2004-11-18 05:01:45 UTC
iTunes has a nice feature that allows certain tracks/albums to be grouped as
being "part of a compilation", and a complimentary setting that allows
compilations to be grouped together in the iTunes library.

The biggest advantage of this feature IMHO is to avoid cluttering the artists
list with a lot of single one-song entries from things like movie soundtracks,
etc. It would be nice if Slimserver had a similar feature to turn this grouping on.

To give you an example of the difference this makes in my case, my iTunes
Library currently shows 500 artists (out of 3000+ songs), while SlimServer shows
660... The difference being all of the artists that are included in my
"compilations" that don't show up in iTunes (nor do I particularly want them to,
as in many cases they've only got one song listed under them).

My suggestion is that this could be a Yes/No option under Server
Settings->iTunes for those who may want to group their music this way.

Routine bug db maintenance; removing old versions which cause confusion. I apologize for the inconvenience.
