Bugzilla – Bug 6619
Make it possible to hook into Now Playing menu
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:26:50 UTC
It would be nice if it was possible for a SqueezeCenter plugin to hook in functions/menus in the "Now Playing" menu on the Jive interface. Today the TrackStat plugin makes it possible to rate the currently playing track by holding down the number buttons on the standard remote, the same is currently not possible to do in the Jive interface since there is now way for TrackStat to hook into the Now Playing menu in the Jive interface. One way to solve the problem would be if it was possible for plugins to add functions to a context menu which could be launched from the Now Playing menu. This is similar to this bug report: https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6021
Will look at this after 7.0 and discuss UI.
This must already exist in some form, for example to allow pandora thumbs up/down.
wiping priority field in 7.1 target bugs, as the priorities that were set as 7.0 target bugs are not relevant here.
I'd like to have this implemented as according to forum threads, this is a prerequisite to have support for rating in Duet (through plugin)
Also want this very much, pursuant to getting the ability to rate tracks.
Track rating via Trackstat using the Duet Controller is very important for me, so this enhancement is highly desirable.
Andy: is facility what will be used for your "On Rhapsody" etc. support?
No, that doesn't really apply here.
Trackstat transformed the useability of my Squeezebox. I'd love to see and make ratings via the controller.
change 20664 adds play-hold item handlers to the current playlist menu (aka "now playing"). The play-hold handler behavior is exactly as described in bug6021#c17.
This is really a dupe of bug 6930. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 6930 ***
